The richness of the original architecture is simply stunning: from historic, intricate stucco work to richly decorated doors or antique, tiled floors. Architects from the DG Arquitecto Valencia studio combined them with minimalist buildings and modern lighting.

The renovation of a 19th-century apartment located in a historic tenement house was a big challenge for the designers. Located in the La Seu district of Valencia, the apartment is a unique space where the century-old marble floors, Nolla rugs, wooden paneling and plaster ceilings have been perfectly preserved.
“Working from home with these characteristics was a great opportunity for us and a real challenge. This is a project that required great planning and was made possible by a great team and fantastic clients,” say the architects.
"The main requirement of the clients, which we shared with them from the beginning, was to keep all the original features, to transform the space as little as possible, so that the house adapts to the new times, with new amenities, open spaces and all the comforts of a modern home," they add.
The kitchen was designed in collaboration with Mobalco Valencia; its heart is a large, central island. The culinary space has been finished with the utmost care as it is the main link between new and existing areas in the house. What's more, the owners like to cook and spend a lot of time there.
The whole thing is extremely chic and intriguing at the same time. The contrast between what is new and what is old intrigues at first sight!
