Today we invite you to the apartment in Rome, which is full of color and surprising ideas. The apartment is intended for short-term rental and is intended to allow tourists to discover a more modern side of the Eternal City. STUDIOTAMAT is responsible for the project.
The apartment is located on the first floor of a historic tenement house. The designers managed to separate two comfortable bedrooms, a small kitchenette and a flexible living room, which can change depending on the needs of tenants. Before the renovation, almost all the walls were covered with wallpaper from the 70's, designers discovered original plaster underneath them. The colors of the entire apartment have been selected just for them.

"The challenge was to create a contemporary design intervention in continuity with the past, to calibrate the historical peculiarities of the apartment and elements of contemporary architecture, in a game of contrasts that made it possible to create heterogeneous and characterful settings"– explains Matteo Soddu, co-founder of STUDIOTAMAT.
In the hall, there is an exhibition of the historic ceiling and walls, the only decoration is a metal mirror with a Flos lamp. The small kitchenettes were made to order.
Almost in the center of the apartment there is a large cabinet called "totem", which not only covers the entrance to the bedroom, but also serves as a bookcase and a small wine cellar. Subtle color accents add a modern character to the apartment.
