Four apartments in Łódź

This time, the Trójmiasto duo BO/SKO presents a project that they implemented in Łódź. In a spacious apartment (about 130m2) in a tenement house adjacent to the famous Piotrkowska Street, Daria Bolewicka and Daria Skoczylas designed four small apartments for rent. The task was not simple: the apartment was completely devastated, all installations needed to be replaced, and the budget for the entire project was strictly set..

The designers started work by creating a new space plan: a large hall made it possible to divide the apartment into four independent apartments. Each of them has a bathroom and a kitchenette. The architects decided to leave the original wooden floor, which was refreshed. The preserved original element of the interior is a nod to the history of the house. Unfortunately, the characteristic entrance door was not suitable to be left - in their place new doors were painted, painted in burgundy color, in a form reminiscent of the original woodwork.

In the lobby there is a place for hanging bicycles, the entrance to each apartment is marked with lighting and color. It is the colors that distinguish individual apartments - the designers have created an interesting palette of colors that, combined with wood and white, determine the aesthetics of space.

Apartment No. 1 is dominated by dark green and dirty pink. This is the largest of the apartments: after entering we get to the kitchen with a separate mini-dining room. Pink paneling is mixed with patches of dark green, plywood and square tiles.

From this small space you can go to a large bedroom - in the central place there is a metal bed, opposite of which a geometric composition has been painted on the wall. In addition, there is a small sofa bed and storage space. Above the bed is the poster by Aleksandra Morawiak - the designers decided to emphasize the location of their project by presenting the works of this Łódź graphic designer in the apartments.

The second apartment is the smallest studio apartment. Here, the leading role is played by mint green and royal burgundy - they appear in geometric shapes on the walls, in textiles and also ... as the color of joints in the kitchen - the designers used this treatment in each of the apartments. The interior is enlarged by mirrors, placed on two walls reflect light and give the space depth.

Apartments 3 and 4 have a very similar layout, according to the assumptions of the designers, they are distinguished by colors. Deep navy blue is combined with beige, as well as bold coral combined with gray set the tone.

Unification of the furnishing elements of all four apartments made colors and geometry the most important element in this design. Characteristically for BO / SKO, the architects also used furniture and accessories from Polish producers in their design: in each apartment at the table presents Fameg classics, in individual interiors you can see vases from Ćmielów, accessories from Rou, Elevaar rugs or the mentioned previously works Liquid memory collages.
