At Lee Broom's house
Today we invite you to a unique space: the apartment and showroom of the famous designer Lee Broom. The Penthouse is an elegantly designed duplex apartment in New York's Tribeca.
It is not only the designer's city residence, but also a meeting place for invited guests, where they will be able to see the wide range of furniture, lamps and accessories designed by Lee Broom.
The apartment is located on the fifth and sixth floors of a historic building in Tribeca. Interestingly, it is one of the first sustainable renovations of historic buildings of this type in New York.
According to the designer, over 80% of the materials have been regenerated or restored. The apartment is characterized by high ceilings, lots of natural light and 300-year-old, hand-restored wooden details.
Lee Broom envisioned each room as a series of beautifully selected and captivating vignettes; each with their own defined personality. In recent years, the designer has focused mainly on designing lamps, "The Penthouse" is also an excuse to return to creating furniture and accessories.
The living room welcomes guests with a calm, monochrome space with accents of brushed brass, bronze and matte black. The focal point of the room is the new 'White Street' sofa, specially designed for this interior. This room also features the 'Tribeca Tables' - a series of carved side tables and coffee tables, and a new version of the Fulcrum candlestick.
The dining room opens onto a magnificent terrace with stunning views of One World Trade. Blue walls, gray velvet pleated curtains and brushed stainless steel with hints of gold provide the perfect setting for the new Lee Broom "Maestro" chairs, featuring hand-curved, intricately twisted stainless steel components. They are accompanied by the "Maestro" table and the "Aurora" lamp.
Carved stairs lead up to the master bedroom and the terrace overlooks the Empire State Building. Its highlight is an original postmodern bed from the 1970s made of brass and stainless steel.
In Broom's private office, the designer displayed several pieces from his personal art collection, including an original leather jacket belonging to artist Keith Haring with distinctive artwork painted on the back.
